BergHoff Zeno Pressure CookersFrom the land of Hercule Poirot, Tintin, waffles and les pommes frites comes BergHOFF Zeno Pressure Cookers.

Their tagline proudly states affordable design and quality. We’ll be the first ones to praise them on the revolutionary design of their “round belly” cookers as well as the obvious quality of their cookware. But on the price – affordable? Not so much.

When the price on Amazon is over $230 for the 4.2 quart model of their pressure cookers, then you have to make take a step back and evaluate the finer details of this brand which features more than a dozen “collections”.

There is no doubt that these pressure cookers are “things of beauty” if you can give that moniker to cookware and few other pots and pans make you go “wow”. In fact, can you imagine a manufacturer with its own line of children’s cookware? BergHOFF has one.

From the mirror finish of the stainless steel to the futuristic designs and precision controls, we could easily have second thoughts about getting it dirty by actually cooking in this pressure cooker.

Berghoff Zeno pressure cookers come in three different 10 inch diameter pans: 4.2 quarts, 6.3 quarts, the 8.4 quarts pressure cooker which retails very close to $300 and the 10.6 quart model which sells for pennies under $325. on Amazon.

The prices vary quite a bit from one retailer to another.

The 10 inch diameter is perfect for just about every burner on any range but that does not make for a lot of cooking surface for larger cuts of meat. Mission? Find one locally and study it well.

About cocotteminute

It started with a Presto Model PCC4A 4 Quart pressure cooker in color bright finish - the color? Avocado green. The date was June 1970. When we made the quantum leap to a MacDonald's 23 Quart Cooker/Canner a few years later, it was much like going from a Smart Car to the Chevy Suburban but it expanded pressure cooking horizons to another level. We even inherited an aluminum Wear-Ever No.3607 - 7 Quart pressure Cooker. Since then, we've used a T-Fal 4 Quart pressure cooker several times a week but it is time to update to a new model.
